Notre Dame v. USC Game:

22 October 1977

The USC game has had major importance for Notre Dame's National Championship hopes in the past. From 1966 to 1982, ND won only three games (1966, 1973, and 1977) against the Trojans, and in each year ND won the National Championship. Notre Dame certainly was spirited for the 1977 game. The students made an enormous Trojan horse and Coach Dan Devine pulled out his biggest trick: after warming up in standard blue jerseys, the ND players stormed the field for the game in green jerseys on their way to a 30 point trouncing of USC.
